What an AI Credit is, and what still doesn't touch it — GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot's paid individual plans now include a monthly AI Credits allowance: 1 credit = $0.01. Code completions and inline suggestions stay unlimited and free of credit charges either way.

GitHub Copilot's individual paid plans — Pro, Pro+ and Max — each include a monthly allowance of "AI Credits." The conversion is fixed: 1 AI Credit = $0.01 USD. Chat, agent mode, code review and the Copilot CLI all draw down that allowance as you use them; once you're out for the month, those features stop working (or move to pay-as-you-go, depending on your settings) until the next billing cycle.

The Free plan doesn't carry an AI Credits allowance at all — it runs on its own separate limits (2,000 completions and 50 chat/agent requests a month, per this site's own verified figure). Credits are specifically a Pro/Pro+/Max mechanic.
