Which plan gives you the best credit-per-dollar rate — GitHub Copilot

Pro, Pro+ and Max include more AI Credits than their sticker price in raw dollars, thanks to a "flex" bonus GitHub says may change. Business and Enterprise seats get exactly their price in credits, pooled across the team.

Hint: If you regularly run out of credits before the month ends, the jump usually pays for itself. If you rarely get close to your current allowance, a higher multiplier on unused headroom doesn't save you anything.

1,500 credits a month ($15 worth) for $10/month: 1,000 base credits plus 500 flex credits, a 1.5x multiplier over the sticker price. GitHub says the flex part may change.

Is GitHub Copilot Max worth it over Pro?

On raw credit math, Max's 20,000 credits ($200) for $100/month is a 2x multiplier, against Pro's 1.5x. That only pays off if you regularly run out of Pro's 1,500 credits. If you rarely hit that ceiling, the extra $90/month buys headroom you won't use. Credits do not roll over, so unused headroom is simply lost.
